Convert DOC to ODT on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .doc file into ODT? Citrus converts DOC to ODT right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
ODT opens in LibreOffice and OpenOffice. Formatting from complex templates, tracked changes and advanced tables may differ after conversion.
How to convert DOC to ODT
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .doc file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose ODT as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
DOC: DOC is the older Microsoft Word format. Use it only when someone needs legacy compatibility.
ODT: ODT is the open document format used by LibreOffice and OpenOffice.
