Convert DOC to RTF on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .doc file into RTF? Citrus converts DOC to RTF right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
RTF keeps fonts, bold, italic and basic layout, but complex tables and images may change. Formatting from complex templates, tracked changes and advanced tables may differ after conversion.
How to convert DOC to RTF
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .doc file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose RTF as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
DOC: DOC is the older Microsoft Word format. Use it only when someone needs legacy compatibility.
RTF: RTF is a simple rich-text format that keeps basic styling and opens in almost any editor.
