Convert FLAC to ALAC on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .flac file into ALAC? Citrus converts FLAC to ALAC right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
Both FLAC and ALAC are lossless, so the audio is identical after conversion. Only the container and file size change. Choose the sample rate (44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 kHz and more) and bit depth (16 or 24) in Citrus. ALAC plays in Apple Music, iPhone and iTunes without extra apps.
How to convert FLAC to ALAC
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .flac file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose ALAC as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
FLAC: FLAC is lossless compressed audio. It is about half the size of WAV with identical sound.
ALAC: ALAC (Apple Lossless) is lossless compressed audio that plays in Apple Music, iPhone and iTunes.
