Convert JPG to TIFF on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .jpg file into TIFF? Citrus converts JPG to TIFF right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
TIFF is lossless, but the JPG source already lost detail when it was saved, so the file gets bigger without getting sharper. Resize by percent or pixels, crop, and choose whether to keep EXIF and location data, all before converting.
How to convert JPG to TIFF
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .jpg file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose TIFF as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
JPG: JPG (JPEG) is the most compatible photo format in the world. It opens everywhere, but it is lossy and has no transparency.
TIFF: TIFF is a lossless format used in printing, scanning and photo editing. Files are large but keep every pixel.
