Convert M4V to MOV on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .m4v file into MOV? Citrus converts M4V to MOV right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
Citrus re-encodes with Apple's video engine and can change resolution, for example to 1080p, 720p or 480p. MOV is a good choice for editing in Final Cut Pro, iMovie and other Apple apps. Set a smaller, balanced or best quality level, or pick a target file size.
How to convert M4V to MOV
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .m4v file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose MOV as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
M4V: M4V is Apple's MP4-style video container, used by iTunes and Apple TV.
MOV: MOV is Apple's QuickTime video container, produced by iPhones, Macs and many cameras.
