Convert WebP to JPG on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .webp file into JPG? Citrus converts WebP to JPG right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become a solid background. Both formats are lossy, so each conversion adds a little compression loss. Convert once from the original and keep quality high. Resize by percent or pixels, crop, and choose whether to keep EXIF and location data, all before converting.
How to convert WebP to JPG
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .webp file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose JPG as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
WebP: WebP is a web image format from Google that is smaller than JPG or PNG. Many desktop apps still can't open it.
JPG: JPG (JPEG) is the most compatible photo format in the world. It opens everywhere, but it is lossy and has no transparency.
