Convert MOV to MP4 on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .mov file into MP4? Citrus converts MOV to MP4 right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
Citrus re-encodes with Apple's video engine and can change resolution, for example to 1080p, 720p or 480p. MP4 plays on almost everything: web, phones, TVs and social media. Set a smaller, balanced or best quality level, or pick a target file size.
How to convert MOV to MP4
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .mov file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose MP4 as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
MOV: MOV is Apple's QuickTime video container, produced by iPhones, Macs and many cameras.
MP4: MP4 is the most compatible video format for web, phones, TVs and social media.
