Convert MP4 to M4V on Mac, offline
Need to turn a .mp4 file into M4V? Citrus converts MP4 to M4V right on your Mac, offline, using Apple's own engines. Nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters for client work, private photos and contracts.
What to expect
Citrus re-encodes with Apple's video engine and can change resolution, for example to 1080p, 720p or 480p. MP4 plays on almost everything: web, phones, TVs and social media. Set a smaller, balanced or best quality level, or pick a target file size.
How to convert MP4 to M4V
Open Citrus from the menu bar (the citrus slice icon). Drop your .mp4 file, or several, into the window. You can also drag a file onto the menu bar icon to open the quick wheel. Choose M4V as the output format and adjust options if you want, like size, quality or resolution. Press Convert. Your new files appear next to the originals, and the originals are never changed.
About the formats
MP4: MP4 is the most compatible video format for web, phones, TVs and social media.
M4V: M4V is Apple's MP4-style video container, used by iTunes and Apple TV.
